Discover the Journey of Trixi: Pioneers of Cycling Adventures in Madrid
Welcome to Trixi, where our passion for cycling and exploration transforms every ride into an unforgettable adventure. Our story began over two decades ago, inspired by a transformative trip to Berlin, a city alive with innovation and the exciting presence of pedicabs and unique vehicles that captivated our imagination.
We, Eva and Gerald, were enthralled by the potential of cycles and wheels to revolutionize urban mobility and tourism. Driven by this vision, we became trailblazers in Spain and across Southern Europe, introducing bike taxis and rickshaws as a novel mode of transport and a delightful way to explore the city’s wonders. In 1999, the concept of Trixi (a playful blend of “Tri-cycle” and “ta-xi”) was born, and we embarked on our mission to reveal the enchanting beauty of Barcelona to both locals and international visitors.
Our journey of innovation and growth continued, and in 2007, we were thrilled to welcome Michal, one of our dedicated “Trixistas” (drivers), and his wife Maria into the Trixi family as partners. This marked the beginning of a new chapter with the opening of our Trixi Madrid bike and walking tours shop, bringing our unique experiences to the heart of Spain’s capital.
At Trixi Madrid, we take pride in being the pioneers of daily and specialized tours that cater to diverse interests and passions. From the gastronomic delights of our Tapas & Markets tour to the thrilling Real Madrid tour, and the serene exploration of Madrid’s parks, we’ve designed a range of experiences to suit every traveler.
Our tours are as varied as our clientele, offering personalized, multilingual adventures for individuals, groups, students, schools, and corporate teams. At Trixi, we believe that the best way to discover Madrid’s rich history, vibrant culture, and breathtaking landscapes is on two wheels, with the wind in your hair and the city’s vibrant energy guiding your journey.
Join us at Trixi, where every pedal is a step towards new discoveries and lasting memories. Whether you’re a seasoned cyclist or a curious traveler, our team is here to ensure that your exploration of Madrid is nothing short of extraordinary. Experience the city like never before, through the eyes of those who know and love it best. Welcome to Trixi, where your cycling adventure awaits.

Eva Mª Rossel
(Sales Director)
Languages: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian
Eva was born in Germany but spent her childhood in Mexico, where she grew up and learned Spanish. Her family later returned to Germany, where she continued her education. After completing her studies in Business Administration in Germany and earning an MBA in the UK, Eva sought an international career in Marketing/Management. She began working for a multinational textile company, marking the start of her life as an expatriate. This career path allowed her to explore various company sectors and immerse herself in diverse cultures, including those of the UK, Australia, Russia, Turkey, and ultimately Spain, which captured her heart.
Upon her return to Spain, Eva initially settled in Barcelona and worked for several Spanish companies. However, she soon realized that her entrepreneurial spirit was no longer fulfilled by working for others. Alongside her partner Gerald, she founded the bike taxi company Trixi in Barcelona, introducing the first bike taxi service in Southern Europe. A few years after establishing their presence in Barcelona, they expanded their operations to Madrid in 2007, where they launched Trixi Madrid, offering bike tours and bike rental services. And that brings us to where we are today.
Maria Teresa Dulas
(Operations Manager)
Languages: English, Spanish, Polish
Maria was born and raised in Poland. After completing her studies in philosophy, she was eager to explore new experiences, such as living in different parts of the world. Her first destination was the Netherlands. Maria spent several years in Amsterdam, where she not only fell in love with the city and the expatriate lifestyle but also developed a passion for cycling as her main mode of transportation in every city she lived in.
In 2004, Maria moved to Barcelona, intrigued by the idea of experiencing life in Southern Europe. The Spanish way of life captivated her so much that the thought of returning to the colder climates of the North never crossed her mind. In 2007, she seized the opportunity to move to Madrid with her friend to open the second Trixi shop in Spain, this time focusing on bike tours and bike rentals. Initially, this venture presented a significant challenge, as the capital city was not accustomed to bicycles or bike lanes, and a cycling culture had to be cultivated from the ground up.
Today, Maria is happily settled in Madrid with her husband Michal. In the meantime, they have welcomed two children, who are true Madrileños. Maria is delighted to witness the growth of the Trixi Madrid bike project and to be an integral part of its success.
Michal Zasowski
(General Manager)
Languages: English, Spanish, Polish
In 2005, Michal found his way to Trixi bike taxis in Barcelona. His confident demeanor and positive attitude helped him overcome the renowned “nails challenge” associated with the bike taxi, endearing him to Eva and Gerald. He was then invited to become part of the vibrant and diverse team of riders known as “Trixistas.” His tenure with the team was filled with joy, forged friendships, empathy, and engaging activities, embodying the spirit of Trixi Barcelona for three memorable seasons. It was during this time that Eva and Gerald presented Michal and his friend Maria with an opportunity to expand their horizons. In 2007, they were tasked with establishing a bike tours and rental service in the heart of Madrid.
Embracing this new venture, Michal and Maria became partners, bringing their boundless enthusiasm and dynamic energy to the Madrid shop. Michal has since set a record at Trixi for his adeptness at adjusting saddles, fixing punctures, managing bike rentals, and coordinating tours, all while maintaining an unwaveringly positive attitude.
Gerald Caspari
(Business Development)
Languages: English, German, Spanish
Gerald’s journey from a routine life in Germany to an adventurous one abroad is nothing short of remarkable. Initially serving in local government and later assisting with Germany’s unification efforts in the East, his life took an unexpected turn when he crossed paths with Eva on one of her business excursions. This serendipitous meeting was a turning point, leading him to Barcelona. Barely settling in, Gerald and Eva embarked on further adventures, spending two years in Moscow and six months in Istanbul. However, the allure of Spain drew them back.
Inspired by the bike taxis they encountered in Berlin, they ventured into establishing their own bike taxi company in Barcelona. Gerald’s involvement in Trixi bike taxis has spanned 17 years in Barcelona, with nearly 15 years dedicated to Trixi Madrid, focusing on bike tours and bike rentals.
Gerald is renowned for his humor and unwavering optimism, bringing a strategic perspective to the company. He is instrumental in exploring new business avenues, overseeing the website, and managing all technical aspects of the operations.
