The World Book Day is celebrated on 23rd April because on the same date, 23.April 1616, coincidentally, Cervantes and Shakespeare, two of the great figures of world literature, died. Easter in Madrid Normally, during “Semana Santa” the Spanish capital is full of processions, celebrations and concerts, but this year all the festivities had to be cancelled in order to avoid crowds of people.
