READ ME FIRST – Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need to reserve a bike tour?
No, it is not necessary to reserve, just come to our shop in calle de los Jardines 12 at 11am come rain or shine, any day of the week even bank holidays.

Is it safe to do a bike tour?

The route has been specifically created with safety in mind; our guides will show you the highlights of this city in a safe and relaxed way.

How long is the bike tour?

The bike tour is three hours long which includes stopping for a drink.

Can we stop for lunch?
During the bike tour there is a short stop for a drink, it is also possible to buy sandwiches and light snacks.

What will we see on the bike tour?
The bike tour will show you the main attractions that Madrid as a capital city has to offer yet it will also take you to lesser known areas of the city giving you a chance to discover the legends and anecdotes of old Madrid.

Do you do bike tours if it is raining?
Yes, we will only cancel a tour in extreme weather conditions (earthquakes, hurricanes). If it starts to rain during the bike tour, we will provide plastic rain macs.

Can we do some shopping along the way?
During the bike tour shopping is not recommended but we can indicate some of the main shopping areas in Madrid that you can visit after the tour.

Can we take photographs?
Yes, there will be plenty of opportunities during the bike tour to stop and take photographs ensuring an unforgettable experience.

Where does the bike tour start from?

The bike tours start from our shop in calle de los Jardines 12, which is a two minute walk from the Puerta Del Sol located in the centre of the city.

How many people will be on the bike tour?
The number varies each day, there is no minimum, the maximum is 30 and in which case the tour will be accompanied by two monitors.

What is included in the price of the bike tour?
The price includes a bicycle, a tour guide and a drink (soft drink, tea or coffee).

Can we hire the bikes after the tour?
Yes, the bikes are available to hire after the tour, there is a slightly reduced rate for those who take the bike tour.

Can I take my children?
Yes, we have special child bicycle carrier seats designed for children up to 22 kilo grams (3.5 stone). Adolescents of 14 years or older can use adult bikes always when accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Can I only come for the first hour?
The daily scheduled bike tour is lasts three hours, it is therefore not possible to only do part of the tour. If you want a longer of shorter tour enquire about the possibilities of reserving a tailor-made private tour via email or telephone.

Can we do a tour in the afternoon?
There are no daily scheduled tours in the afternoon but it is possible to arrange an afternoon tour for groups of more than 6 people though prices and conditions vary slightly, enquire by email or telephone.

What do I need to take with me?
You do not need to bring anything specific, bring yourself, a camera and a bottle of water if you want to though we stop for a drink during the bike tour.

In which language you do bike tours?
The tours are in English yet we can organise them in other languages at your request.

Are there any toilets along the way?
It is possible to use the toilet in the shop before the start of the tour, when we stop for a drink there is another opportunity to relieve yourself.

Do you need to be really fit to do a bike tour?
The bike tour is suitable for all ages and physical states, so long as you have two legs and enthusiasm you will be fine.

What are the advantages of doing a bike tour over a walking tour?
It is a great way to combine sport and cultural activity, you are able to see a lot more in a shorter amount of time

Do you have bicycle helmets?
Yes, we provide and recommend helmets for safety reasons though they are not obligatory. We have helmets for both adults and children.
